Matt Roloff Spends Weekend In Arizona Amid Home Fakery Scandal
June 30 2018, Updated 9:47 p.m. ET
Matt Roloff is spending more time at his Surprise, Arizona vacation home with girlfriend Caryn Chandler—even as controversy swirls about how he nabbed the house!
The Little People, Big World patriarch posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Friday night, smiling on his motorized scooter; he was clearly riding around a sunny Arizona neighborhood.
Matt, the author of the children's book, Little Lucy Big Race, wrote as a caption, "Hi all my Arizona friends... anyone that missed my last book signing at the Barnes and Nobel in Surprise AZ ... or if we ran out of books before you got yours. I’ll be there again tomorrow (sat 6/30) from 11am - 1:30)
"This time there should be plenty of books (hopefully). And I’ll sign your copy and do a meet n greet. Hope to see you there! also we are in the planning stages of a multi city book reading tour in August. Stay tuned we may be in Your city soon!" the reality TV star wrote cheerily.
But Matt's trip away from the farm follows hot on the heels of RadarOnline.com's exclusive report that his buying the Arizona spread was faked on the show.
Matt, 56, and Caryn, 50, not only lied about when they purchased their Arizona vacation house, but also fibbed how they bought it, as RadarOnline.com learned exclusively.
Although LPBW viewers saw Matt going on a major house hunt with Caryn on the show, he really just snagged the home from his girlfriend’s parents!
According to Maricopa County property records obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Matt purchased the Surprise, Arizona home in May, 2017. The deed was finalized on June 13, showing Caryn’s parents, Roger and Michele Bryngelson signing over their home to Matt.
Their new Arizona neighbor, Arthur Rutger, told RadarOnline.com that Caryn introduced herself as the daughter of the people that previously owned the house.
Chandler's parents have relocated to another place nearby.
Matt and Caryn told fans on the season finale that they were looking at properties in Arizona during the Christmas season. But it turns out they’ve actually had the house in the bag for a whole year.
Records show Matt put an all cash down payment of $110,000. The home was sold for $375,000 total.
Despite Caryn telling fans she planned on investing in a home with Matt, the Little People patriarch is listed as the sole owner of the home.
It's not the only time charges of fakery have hit the Roloff family. Matt and Amy's black sheep son Jacob has blasted the show for being staged. But what is true is that Matt is spending more and more time off the Oregon Roloff Farm and in the sunnier climate of Arizona!
RadarOnline.com told you first about Matt's new home plans in Surprise, Arizona with Caryn. Although Matt and Caryn have had tensions in their relationship, they now appear to be enjoying their new desert abode as much as possible--far away from his ex-wife Amy!
