The shamed actor, who was found dead on January 30 after he hanged himself at an isolated spot in the Angeles National Forest, was trying to recover in therapy for his mental illness as his child porn sentencing neared, according to a pal.

Salling recently pleaded guilty to child porn charges in December 2017 and was expected back in court March 7 for sentencing. But, on January 30, the LAPD received a missing person report on the Glee star. Six hours later — around 8:50 AM — police discovered his body.
