Three months after Kanye West was blasted for proclaiming that “slavery is a choice,” the troubled rapper broke down in tears during a radio interview with 107.5 WGCI in Chicago on Wednesday, apologizing to fans for his remarks.

But it is no coincidence that the 41-year-old rapper also rehired his fired manager, Scooter Braun, just hours prior to his tearful interview — RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that West's controlling wife Kim Kardashian left him no other choice!

“Kim is running the Kanye show now," a Keeping up with the Kardashians confidante told RadarOnline.com. "She told him he needed to go public with an apology for the slavery comments that he made three months ago and she also told him that he needed to rehire his manager."

“Kim was very vocal about her anger over his behavior and she threatened to divorce him if he didn’t start listening to her and following her orders.”

“She cannot handle another breakdown from her husband and she really does not have the time to worry about her family’s safety anymore," added the source.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, West’s slavery comments were made before summer, around the time he was also very vocal about his support for president Donald Trump.

West addressed both topics during the shocking radio interview.

“I’m sorry for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment, and I’m sorry for people that felt let down by that moment," he said.

“The thing about being called crazy, the biggest stigma that has to be broken is that you instantly get written off,” West continued while holding back tears.

“But you might be the only one who knows what they’re talking about. Also, what I wanna say to everyone listening right now– I have never really approached or addressed the slavery comment fully."
