Kim Cattrall Buries Her Brother Amid Sarah Jessica Parker Feud
Feb. 24 2018, Updated 9:59 p.m. ET
Kim Cattrall has buried her brother, she announced on Instagram today.
But the star also shut down her former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker—and anyone else—from commenting on the memorial social media post.
Sharing a photo of herself on Saturday smiling with their family minister, Cattrall wrote as a caption, "Thank you to St Cuthbert’s Parish Minister in Edinburgh Reverend Peter Sutton and our wonderful, joyful Scottish friends for making us laugh today. Lighting a candle in memory of our brother, son, father, & husband, Christopher Adrian Alexander Cattrall. Forever in our thoughts. RIP xo\."
But Cattrall then locked the post down so that no one could comment on her touching memorial—in the wake of her bitter feud with Parker over her brother's death.
Cattrall, 61, launched a shocking attack on Parker, 52, this month after she had expressed sympathy for Cattrall several times about Christopher's death. On Saturday morning, Feb. 10, Cattrall showed her hatred for SJP, writing on Instagram in a big photo message, "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker."
She went even further in the photo caption at the side, revealing, "My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?"
Cattrall, 61, who played Samantha on SATC, continued, addressing herself to Parker, 52, "Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona."
The actress also linked to a story from the New York Post about the "mean girls culture that destroyed sex and the city." As the Daily Mail previously reported, sources blamed Cattrall, who played Carrie Bradshaw, and her "demands" for killing the proposed third Sex and the City movie. Parker didn't point any fingers but said she was "disappointed" as there was a great script ready to go for another big screen version of the hit HBO show.
But Cattrall tweeted, " The only DEMAND I ever made was that I didn’t want to do a 3rd film….& that was back in 2016."
On Feb. 4, Cattrall announced via Twitter that her brother Christopher, had disappeared in Alberta, Canada--and begged fans for help in finding him.
Tragically, Christopher was found deceased several hours later. Parker has said she has never attacked Cattrall, only expressing disappointment about the SATC movie being scuttled. SJP has opened up about their feud, "she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege."
Parker has also noted that Cattrall said "things that were really hurtful about me," when speaking to journalist Piers Morgan.
