Channing Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan has pulled the trigger on officially ending their marriage.
Almost seven months after they announced their breakup, Dewan filed for divorce on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences, The Blast.
The actress' attorney Samantha Spector has filed legal documents in which Dewan, 37, asks for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s one child, daughter Everly, 5. She is also requesting child support and spousal support.
Dewan also is asking to have her name restored to Jenna Dewan, The Blast has reported.
Tatum, 38, responded to the filing shortly afterwards and he also asked for joint custody.
It appears from the paperwork that the divorce situation is proceeding amicably.
The Magic Mike star and his wife separated this spring after 9 years of marriage.
They started dating in 2006 after meeting on the set of the movie Step Up, and tied the knot in in 2009.
However, rumors of trouble flew after Dewan attended the annual Vanity Fair Oscars after-party without Tatum.
When they separated, the two issued a joint statement which read, "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.
"There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly."
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Tatum recently began dating British pop star Jessie J.
He's been seen at the "Bang Bang" singer’s concert in Salt Lake City and they also shared a miniature golf date in Seattle.
"It’s new, casual and they’re having fun together," a source told Us Weekly.
Former World of Dance host Dewan also is moving on. She has a new boyfriend, according to Us Weekly.
