When cops arrived at the University House apartments in Tempe, Ariz., on Sept. 10, they followed a trail of blood from the elevator where Varenberg bloodied his hand punching a wall to his apartment.
In the apartment, Varenberg — the martial arts star’s youngest son — was pressing a knife to the throat of his roommate, identified as Alec, and refusing to let Alec open the door for cops!
“These f**king pigs,” Varenberg can be heard saying on the exclusive video.
“Dude, they’re like, fine,” Alec replied. “They’re probably just worried about your hand, Nick.”
“You shut the f**k up,” Varenberg slurred. “Don’t ever trust f**king cops. They are not here to help you, they are here to hurt you.”
Varenberg then admitted he and Alec “are smoking weed,” and Alec again tried to convince him, to open the door.
Varenberg told Alec, “I will literally f**k you” if he tried to open the door.
Moments later, Alec said: “I don’t feel f**king comfortable with any of this, at all. Like, what the f**k is going on?”
Varenberg then accused Alec of being on the side of the police, and called him “retarded.”
“You’re a f**king idiot, you don’t understand f**king your first f**king amendments,” Varenberg raged. “You’re friends with the f**king cops.”
At that point, the police heard Alec ask Varenberg if he was going to kill him, and tried to lure Varenberg out of the apartment. An hour into the standoff, Varenberg let Alec leave after he promised not to talk to police.
Varenberg finally emerged an hour later, and began to hurl verbal abuse at arresting officer Ryan Conway, asking: “Do you guys want some fame or something or what?”
Varenberg also shouted: “I make movies, too! My dad’s Jean-Claude Van Damme!”
Alec did talk to police, explaining he felt he had to do whatever Varenberg said or his parents “would be at my funeral in two days,” according to a police report.
Varenberg, a student at nearby Arizona State University, was cuffed and thrown behind bars. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond, and pleaded not guilty in Maricopa County Superior Court on Sept. 26.
