Pills & Emotional Trauma: Ireland Baldwin Reveals Brutal Battle With Anorexia
Feb. 25 2019, Updated 11:46 a.m. ET
Ireland Baldwin just dropped a bombshell about her teenage health crises.
On her Instagram Stories this Thursday, the model revealed she once battled with anorexia—and it took her years to love and even accept her curvy body.
Sharing an old photo of her very skinny self, Baldwin, 22, wrote “Anorexia throwback.” Later, she posted a shocking bikini shot of herself, simply writing “Nope.”
“I battled with many eating disorders and body issues as a younger girl and it took me a long time to find self love and acceptance! Trust me, all of that pain and destruction I inflicted on myself wasn’t worth it. Turning down so. Many. Sides. Of. Fries. Wasn’t worth it!!” admitted the beauty on Instagram.
Baldwin then went on to explain how strictly she would control her diet and how much she would let herself be affected by online haters’ fat-shaming comments.
“I would eat a meal or more like a bite and have to run to the nearest bathroom or find digestive pills or run until I couldn’t feel my legs right before bed,” she said.
RadarOnline.com previously reported that apart from her eating disorders, Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin’s daughter also battled with substance abuse, and emotional trauma. She even ended up in rehab when she was just 19!
“I used to read people’s comments when I first started modeling and anytime anyone told me I was too tall or too fat to have done a job, I would run on a treadmill for the entire duration of at least three episodes of Friday Night Lights that I had on box set,” Ireland added.
RadarOnline.com readers know Baldwin has been modeling for years. Ever since she embraced her curves, however, she’s been doing much sexier photo shoots—and her dad is not loving it.
“Love yourself!! You are beautiful!! Enjoy your food. Eat ice cream with your friends! Workout and eat healthy to take care of your mind and body but find your healthy balance! Life is too short,” Baldwin told her followers.
