Howard Stern Blasts Kevin Hart Gay Joke Controversy As ‘Absurd’

Kevin Hart may have lost fans after homophobic jokes he made on twitter between 2009 and 2011 came to light, but the comedian’s got at least one famous supporter still in his corner.

"It's quite absurd honestly,” blasted Howard Stern of Hart’s decision to step down as host of this year’s Academy Awards show. “I think we've gone insane.”

As RadarOnline.com reported, in one tweet, Hart, 39, wrote: "Yo if my son comes home & try's 2 play with my daughters doll house I'm going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice 'stop that's gay'."

According to Stern, “everyone is so politically correct” and, he noted, he accepts Hart’s excuse that that was the humor “back then” and that he’s “kind of evolved as a person.”

“I know I used to say things on air I don't say anymore because my attitude on those things has changed,” said Stern, 64, of his own evolution as a comedian.

“When I was younger, I go, 'Hey f**k this.’ I didn't really get who I was hurting by stuff I said,” he noted. “I have tremendous differences from young Howard then I do with old Howard and I've addressed that.”
