Talk about a downgrade! After years of dating some of Hollywood's hottest hunks, Heather Locklear has hooked up with a jailbird, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The troubled former Dynasty star — who suffered a booze and Benzedrine-fueled breakdown over the Christmas holidays — has friends wary over her new romance with high school sweetheart Chris Heisser!
"This guy is a scam artist!" a longtime pal of the 55-year-old actress told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "Some of her friends think he'll rob her blind!"
After splitting from Marc Mani, her plastic surgeon boyfriend of three years last May, the twice-divorced ex-Melrose Place beauty spiraled into a pit of self-despair, according to insiders.
"Heather was on a self-destructive path , and wound up in rehab," a source told RadarOnline.com. "She was so low, she reached out to Chris."
The two previously dated while growing up in Los Angeles, and during Locklear's TV heyday, Heisser competed on the professional motocross circuit.
But in 2011, the Riverside County district attorney filed criminal charges against Heisser on more than 40 counts of forgery and corruption of records.
There were also charges for grand theft, personal identity theft and unlicensed business transactions.
The charges were filed after Heisser, a father of four, acted as a contractor to build two multimillion-dollar homes in California. An extensive investigation found he forged the signature of one homeowner on construction loan documents and fraudulently obtained hundreds of thousands of dollars from the mortgage company.
What's more, Heisser's business name and license actually belonged to his brother, who was unaware he was using money from clients to build his own home and cover his personal expenses!
If that wasn't sleazy enough, Heisser even forged his brother's signature on a contractor's license renewal form and on secretary of state business forms as well.
Heisser, 55, pleaded guilty to the charges, served two years in prison, and now owes hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution.
"He's bad news," the source claimed, "and a real bad fit for Heather."
