After splitting from husband Josh Duhamel and botching the National Anthem, Fergie was “devastated” a source told RadarOnline.com. Ever since, she has kept a low-profile. But in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, the 43-year-old singer’s family insisted she’s still “doing her thing.”
“My sister has been in the business for long time. Words can hurt, but she’s been phenomenal living life. It hasn’t stopped her from doing her thing,” Fergie’s sister Dana Ferguson told RadarOnline.com.
“No one likes negative publicity, but we all go through it and we all pray and live,” echoed her mother, Terri Jackson, adding that the superstar mom of Axl, 4, has come to peace with her divorce.
“She is happy about it, and happy with her son. She is moving forward in a positive way. She’s doing well and moving forward in her life.”
Fergie has been so busy filming as host on The Four, she hasn’t been out and about in Hollywood, her sister added.
“She is busy working and being with her son and family,” revealed Dana. “They go to the movies, she has a pool, they do tons of activities all the time and they are a family unit that continue to love each other.”
Fergie’s sis said despite the break-up, she and Josh are still close.
“They are a really tight-knit family,” added Dana. “We share videos of Axl and Fergie’s nephews all the time as a family.”
“Love continues between them. They are great parents and great to each other.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the former A-list couple announced they were separating last September after eight years of marriage and 13 years together as a couple – news that initially shocked her parents.
Fergie admitted in an emotional interview after the split that she thought her union with the 45-year-old actor would be forever, saying through tears: “It wasn’t my plan. I wanted to stay married forever.”
Soon after the split, Fergie infamously fumbled her way through a sultry rendition of America’s song at the NBA All-Star Game in February.
