The ninth week of Dancing with the Stars' 17th season aired Monday, with a surprising elimination that had the studio audience booing after it was announced.

Elizabeth Berkeley was surprisingly not saved by the bell.

The Showgirls star was eliminated Monday, after it came down to her and comic Bill Engvall competing for the coveted semi-finals spot left.

After her ouster, Berkeley, a skilled dancer who finished second in the night's scoring with partner Val Chmerovskiy, admitted she was "sad" about going home.

"There were more things we wanted to do. But I'm, honestly, like, beyond grateful for this," she said. "I want to thank everyone, especially Val. I've learned so much, I've learned so much, obviously dance, but growth as a human being and partnership, it's something I will hold so dear to me forever."
