Dakota Johnson Desperate To Win Over Chris' Ex-Wife Gwyneth Before Wedding

Dakota Johnson is desperately trying to break the ice with Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, in time for her wedding day, RadarOnline.com has learned.
“Things have been frosty at best between Gwyneth and Dakota since she started dating Chris,” revealed an insider. “Dakota has been thinking of ways to improve their relationship.”
Although Paltrow and Martin, who are successfully co-parenting their 14-year-old daughter Apple and 12-year-old son Moses, are no longer married, the Goop founder and the Coldplay lead singer are still close.
Paltrow even told The Late Show host Stephen Colbert that Martin, 41, is “really like my brother, we’re very familial. It’s nice, it’s great.”
Johnson, 28, has been hot and heavy with the “Yellow” singer since the end of last year, and there has been talk that Johnson and Martin could walk down their own aisle in the next few months.
And, as RadarOnline.com reported, Paltrow, 45, admitted back in January she was engaged to longtime boyfriend Brad Falchuk, 46.
Paltrow and Falchuk met in 2014 on the set of Glee, which he co-created, just a few months after Paltrow and Martin announced that they were “consciously uncoupling” from their 10-year marriage.
But whether Martin gets an invite to watch his ex-wife exchange new vows has yet to be determined.
“If Chris isn’t going to be at Gwyneth’s wedding, then of course Dakota won’t be invited either,” the insider said. “But she’s planning on getting the perfect gift as an olive branch to Gwyneth and is looking at expensive flowers and spa gift certificates.”
But sources say Paltrow is no fan of the 50 Shades of Grey star, let alone any of Martin’s previous lovers.
“Chris was hoping this would finally be the girl who Gwyneth would approve of,” another insider told RadarOnline.com, noting Paltrow didn't like any of his former flings, including Anna Wallis, Jennifer Lawrence and Alexa Chung, because she felt they were all "beneath" Martin.
Still, Johnson is determined to be the one woman who wins Paltrow over.
“Dakota is very serious about Chris and wants to settle down with him and be part of the kids’ lives," said the insider, "but she knows it will be a whole lot easier if she’s on Gwyneth’s good side!”
