The Comedy Store Founder Mitzi Shore Dies At 87

Mitzi Shore — the owner of LA's iconic The Comedy Store — has died. As RadarOnline.com has learned, Pauly Shore's beloved mother was pronounced dead this Wednesday in Los Angeles. She was 87 at the time and had long been battling a brutal neurological disease.
"Mom/Mitzi passed Early in the morning at 4.42 am she was 87 years old my heart lays heavy," wrote the Son In Law star on Twitter this morning.
Pauly, 50, had previously opened up about Mitzi's health crises, even sharing on social media that she was in hospice care and he visited her often. As readers know, individuals are put in hospice when they are terminally ill or have a life expectancy of under six months.
"Let's all prey she when she goes to heaven she go peaceful I know she was loved by many of you," tweeted the actor about his mom, earlier this year.
Following Mitzi's passing, The Comedy Store also took to Twitter to share a touching statement: "It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that we report the passing of Mitzi Shore, the legendary Godmother of the world famous Comedy Store."

"Mitzi was an extraordinary businesswoman and decades ahead of her time who cultivated and celebrated the artistry of stand-up comedy," the Store continued. "She was also a loving mother, not only to her own four children, but to the myriad of comedians who adored her. She leaves behind an indelible mark and legacy and has helped change the face of comedy. We will all miss her dearly."
