While Chrissy Metz escaped her troubled childhood without legal issues, her sisters weren't as lucky. RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the This Is Us star’s sister Morgana Morrison was arrested for petit theft, while Monica Metz was busted writing a series of bad checks.
In court papers obtained from Alachua County Court, Metz’ half-sister Morrison was arrested on November 30, 2007 for attempting to steal from a Walmart.
“A loss prevention officer observed the defendant select several items with a total value of $26.17 from the clothing rack of the listed store,” the reporting officer wrote in the police report. “The defendant gave the items to the co-defendant, who concealed them in a defendant’s diaper bag.”
The co-defendant was Metz’ half sister Abigail Hodge.
“The defendant then exited the store without paying for the merchandise,” the report read.
Morrison denied stealing the items, but later admitted to the theft.
She was held on $500 bond at the time of her arrest. Morrison’s case was deferred for a period of four months provided she agreed to the conditions of her probation. She adhered to the terms.
In court papers also obtained from Alachua County Court, Metz’s biological sister Monica Metz was busted writing a bad check for $129.17 on July 20, 1992, $28.76 on July 21, 1992, $38.76 on July 22, 1992 and $54.24 on July 26, 1992.
All charges against her were dismissed.
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, the NBC star’s stepfather Crayton Hodge Jr., who she accused of physically and emotionally abusing her because of her weight as a child in her book This Is Me, was arrested for soliciting for prostitution on July 27, 1988.
“Subject requested sexual favor, specifically ‘head,’ in exchange for $10,” the arrest report read. “The entire conversation was monitored, recorded.”
Hodge entered a plea of nolo contendere, which means no contest. He was sentenced to five days in prison with two days of credit towards the confinement.
He was also arrested for writing a worthless check in the amount of $155.45. He was not prosecuted.
Metz’s mother Denise Hodge was also busted for a bad check.
She wrote the check for the amount of $50 on June 22, 1989 to pay for goods at Sears department store.
Metz’ mother entered a plea of nolo contendere, where she accepted a conviction as though guilty. She was sentenced to six months probation, 20 hours of community service, and ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
Metz’s sisters did not respond to RadarOnline.com’s request for comment.
