Denise Richards: Leaks In The Charlie Sheen-Brooke Mueller Case ‘Affects The Children’
Nov. 20 2013, Published 2:54 p.m. ET
Now that she’s done with a court imposed gag order, having relinquished custody of the twins, Denise Richards is breaking her silence about the bitter custody battle that has engulfed Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller’s twins, Bob and Max, four.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell, the mother-of-three has spoken about the heartbreaking letter that she wrote to the Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services advising that she could no longer care for the boys in her home.
“The hardest thing actually was that the letter was so public,” the 42-year-old ex-wife of the Anger Management star told ET.
"It is something that could have been dealt with privately… (I wrote) something personal as a mom… I was very upset that something like that would become public.
"It's a shame it ultimately affects the children and not just the boys. It affects our daughters too because they hear things. I am very protective of that.”

The star of ABC Family’s Twisted said she first learned the letter had been leaked whilst on set of the sitcom.
She said: “I was sick. I could’t look at anything. I was angry… then I stopped and had to remember, ‘What did I write in that?'
