Police Chief Tells All! Inside Carrie Underwood’s Shocking Run-In With Cops

Carrie Underwood admitted she broke down in tears after being pulled over for speeding on Monday – and RadarOnline.com spoke to the police chief of the department responsible for making her cry!

Brentwood Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh confirmed to RadarOnline.com that one of his officers pulled over the country singer in Brentwood, Tennessee, where the “Two Black Cadillacs” singer lives.

“One of our officers did stop Ms. Underwood and it’s what I would call a standard traffic stop,” Chief Walsh told RadarOnline.com.

The chief said Underwood was traveling southbound on Wilson Pike near the New Hope Church in the northeastern side of the city of Brentwood when an officer flashed his lights behind her at 10:21 a.m.

The chief said he wasn’t sure where the country star was coming from or heading to, but the traffic stop “was not very far from her home.”

“I don’t think she was with anyone,” Walsh added.

Minutes after her embarrassing encounter with police, Underwood took to Twitter to speak of her shame.

“Well, it happened today. After 18 years I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding,” the singer wrote. “I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go. #RuleFollower #GrannyDriver #ImSorry”

Underwood hasn't had the best luck lately. She recently revealed that she had to get 40-50 stitches to her face after falling inside of her home.

She admitted to her fans that she "might look a bit different" the next time they see her. Underwood has yet to make a public appearance since the fall.

Although she hinted at shedding tears over the police stop, Chief Walsh confirmed the global superstar was not even given a ticket!

“Our officer gave her a verbal warning,” he said. “He just told her to be careful, watch her speed, slow down.”

The chief stressed to RadarOnline.com that Underwood “did not receive special treatment.”

“These are things we do every day with any number of folks,” he said. “In this case, she was given a verbal warning but that wouldn’t be different than anybody else. We give many verbal warnings.”

Tennessee is home to a number of well-known singers and athletes. Although Chief Walsh said it’s “not often” his department pulls over stars they’re used to seeing on TV, he admitted, “it does happen.”
