Briana DeJesus experienced every mother’s worst nightmare. In a sneak peek clip for this week’s Teen Mom 2, DeJesus’ 1-year-old daughter underwent emergency surgery.
“A few days ago I noticed Stella was having trouble moving her arm,” DeJesus explained in the clip. “I took her to the hospital. It turns out she had a serious bacterial infection.”
She explained that her daughter underwent emergency surgery.

“She’s doing better now, but she has to stay in the hospital for a few days so they could monitor her,” she said, adding that the hospitalization has been “a lot” for her and her mom Roxanne to handle.
Roxanne told her other daughter Brittany, “Septic arthritis, the infection is in her joint. She’s on antibiotics. She’ll be on antibiotics for a month or two.”
In August 2018, DeJesus exclusively told RadarOnline.com the infection is “common in kids” and “could always come back.”
“The worst part was seeing her come out of surgery so helpless and them poking at her and me not being able to do anything,” she said.
Stella's health issues didn't start there. In September 2017, DeJesus told RadarOnline.com her daughter suffered from a heart condition.
“She has holes in her heart,” she said. “It’s been difficult dealing with Stella right now. We just have to monitor her breathing.”
