Bill Clinton Camp ‘Extremely Angry’ With 'TODAY' Over Monica Lewinsky Question

Former President Bill Clinton’s camp is furious with The TODAY Show after he was asked about his affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky and said he had no regrets RadarOnline.com exclusively learned.

"Bill Clinton's book publisher and personal spokesperson is extremely angry with The TODAY Show and Craig Melvin for pursuing a line of questioning that was off topic, including Monica Lewinsky, and any regrets the president had about his actions at the time of his impeachment,” an NBC show insider told RadarOnline.com.

“The network responded to their criticism by stating no topic is ever off limits to anyone being interviewed,” the source snitched.

Clinton, 71, told Melvin during the interview that he had no plans to directly apologize to Lewinsky in the era of the #MeToo movement.

“I do not. I have never talked to her. But I did say, publicly, on more than one occasion, that I was sorry,” he said on the show.

The NBC insider defended the Lewinsky query to RadarOnline.com and connected it to Clinton and James Patterson’s new book, The President is Missing.

“And most importantly, the book that Bill and James have written, and are out there promoting, is about a fictional president being impeached. So, it's extremely topical to ask the questions that Craig did.”

According to the source, “James Patterson was incensed after the interview, but Bill remained stoic. Things were extremely tense.”

The Clinton team hit back at The TODAY Show. “CBS Sunday morning did ask Clinton about his own impeachment, without delving into Monica Lewinsky in detail as Craig did,” they pointed out, according to the NBC show insider.

“NBC asserts it was fair and stands by the interview.”
