Bethenny Frankel's boyfriend Dennis Shields was in Trump Tower when a blazing fire broke out on Saturday -- and it wound up killing another resident.

The Real Housewives of New York star's banker beau got a personal phone call from President Donald Trump's attorney Michael Cohen to get out of the ritzy New York high rise building "ASAP," according to his interview in the New York Times. Although Frankel hasn't yet commented on social media about the incident, a source exclusively told RadarOnline.com in March that she's head over heels with Shields and that he wants to pop the question to the reality star.

Shields, who lives on the 42nd floor of Trump's expensive building, told the Times that he was alerted to leave by Cohen, who is Trump's personal legal eagle and hit the headlines over the Stormy Daniels saga.

The banker said he grew up with Cohen and the attorney called him: "He said, ''Are you in the building?' I said, ''Yes.'' He said, ''You better get out ASAP.' That's how I knew to get out, otherwise I'd still be in there."

"You could smell the smoke and you could hear things falling like through the vents," Shields shuddered. "It just smelled like sulfur."

Shields said that there were no official orders to evacuate Trump Tower.

While the building was not evacuated, some people chose to self-evacuate. Sadly, though, not everyone could make it out.

Art dealer Todd Brassner, 67, a friend of the late Andy Warhol, died was in his apartment 50C, where the fire reportedly started. He died after being transported to the hospital.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the scary blaze broke out on the 50th floor of the tower around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.

In a dramatic scene, onlookers saw thick black smoke and flames billing out from Trump Tower and burning debris falling onto Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said, "This was a very difficult fire. As you can imagine, the apartment is quite large, we are 50 stories up. The rest of the building had a considerable amount of smoke.

"We found fire on the 50th floor of the building. The apartment was entirely on fire. Members pushed in heroically, they were knocking down the fire." The fire was knocked out about 7:45 p.m. Shield's close shave was undoubtedly horrifying for Frankel.

The insider recently told RadarOnline.com, "Bethenny and Dennis continue their ongoing love saga of being in each other’s lives.

"Dennis is ready to marry Bethenny and would ask her immediately if he thought she was going to say yes."

While according to the spy, at the time, Frankel felt she "just doesn’t want to put a label on their relationship," now that her lover Shields has cheated death, will she reconsider getting married again?
