"You want me to build you a billion-dollar brand?" Tina asked her as she started working on her own shoe and handbag line, which also made Jessica Simpson very rich. "Yeah, I do," Ashlee admitted.

She even came clean about her mom-guilt, saying that "being a working mom is always a juggling act no matter what."

Plus, she was finding it tough to do it all.

"Music is a career by itself, having a clothing line is a career by itself, having a shoe line is a career by itself, being a mom is a career by itself. It's definitely overwhelming," said Ashlee.

Tina reminded Ashlee how their family went on tour with Jessica when she was a teenager.

"I think if you're doing what you love, and your passion shows through, that's all that matters," Tina told her. "The key to it is that you find what works for you and your family and then you'll find that success."

Tina also said they were criticized for their unconventional family choices. "People said 'How could you take Ashlee and put her on the road at 14? Because she didn't want to stay home by herself!" she recalled.

After their heart-to-heart, Ashlee had a much clearer idea about her future.

"My mom really reminded me what worked for us , what kept our family together. It was a special kind of life because it kept our family together," she said.

Eventually, she decided to keep working and involve her kids more in her career: "Bronx and Jagger will be happy. They'll be proud of mommy."

But she admitted that being away from the kids was hard. "Whenever I have an evening event, I'm definitely thinking about my kids and knowing I can't be there to put them to bed," Ashlee confessed. "And I definitely can't wait to take the extensions out of my hair and wipe the makeup off and cuddle with Jagger."

Luckily, her hunky husband, Evan Ross, understood her emotions.

"It's hard when both parents are working, 'cause we're trying to find a way to both be there for the kids as well as work," he said.

"I've had to change certain schedules during my day and so now I've gotta pick up the slack and go pick Bronx up from school…which is amazing 'cause, I'm definitely the youngest dad at his school. So, I look swaggy," he admitted.

Ashlee and Evan ended up taking their daughter to work with them.

"It felt so wonderful to have Jagger come up to our photo shoot. I felt like it was a huge success…although there's like crying and sometimes she's over it," the happy mom said. "No matter what it is, I want my family to be together."
