Ariana's Romance With Pete Doomed By 'Love Of Her Life' Mac's Death

Ariana Grande's relationship with Pete Davidson was shattered by the September overdose death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who the singer has privately called the "love of her life," RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
"After Mac died, that changed everything completely for her and Pete," a source close to the "No Tears Left To Cry" singer, 25, told RadarOnline.com.
A separate insider insisted that Grande's grief "took a toll" on Ariana and Pete's relationship.
"She is really going through a lot right now," the insider added.
As fans know, Grande and Davidson, 26, revealed their new relationship on May 31, and just two weeks later, the couple was engaged. The comedian proposed with a nearly $100,000 diamond ring.
"Ariana was just so blinded by love in the beginning that she didn't care what people thought. She honestly thought, at the time, she had found the one," the first source said.
But soon after, rapper Miller, whom Grande dated for two years until just weeks before she hooked up with Davidson, was found dead at age 26 from a drug overdose.
"Ariana realized Mac was the love of her life," the source continued, adding that her family began to become concerned about Davidson's admitted drug use. "Her family started to really worry about her after his death, and they told her that Pete was no good for her."
She decided to dump him this weekend, and a source claimed she will return the engagement ring.
Although Grande has remained silent on the split, her brother Frankie — who just celebrated one year of sobriety — posted a sweet message seemingly to his sister on Instagram: "Don't cry over the past, it's gone. Don't stress over the future, it hasn't arrived. Live in the present & make it beautiful."
Grande isn't taking time to sit in bed following the breakup. RadarOnline.com can confirm she's already rehearsing for her upcoming role in NBC's Wicked concert special in NYC today. The show will air on October 29.
