Antonio Banderas has revealed that he secretly suffered a heart attack earlier this year — and even underwent a scary surgery to help save his life.

“I suffered a heart attack on January 26, but it wasn’t serious and hasn’t caused any damage,” the 56-year-old actor told Spanish reporters today at a film festival in his hometown of Malaga.

Despite downplaying the severity of the incident, he did admit to undergoing a procedure to implant three stents in his arteries.

As RadarOnline.com reported in January, Melanie Griffith’s ex previously insisted that he merely suffered from an “episode” when he was rushed to the hospital in England.

Two months later, RadarOnline.com exclusively revealed that the Puss in Boots star checked back into the hospital after experiencing chest pains in Switzerland.

Once a Hollywood hunk, Banderas has looked worse for wear in recent weeks.
