Amy Schumer, Emily Ratajkowski Detained For Protesting Brett Kavanaugh Nomination

Amy Schumer was among a large group of protesters detained by police at the Hart Senate Office Bldg. for voicing their opposition to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The comedian and actress was one of about 300 protesters who staged a sit-in on the floor of a Senate office building’s atrium. The group chanted "Say it loud, say it clear, Kavanaugh's not welcome here!" and "Whose court? Our court!"

Earlier in the day, Schumer, 37, joined model Emily Ratajkowski and New York Kirsten Gillibrand (outside the Supreme Court to protest the confirmation of Kavanaugh, who has been slammed recently with repeated claims of sexual abuse and harassment.

Ratajkowski, 27, later tweeted that she was “arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.”

Schumer has been especially outspoken against Kavanaugh, organizing and promoting protest rallies on Twitter, saying “The best tool we have to #StopKavanaugh is our voices.”

Early Thursday morning, the FBI delivered a confidential report that supporters say didn’t uncover information from any witnesses to corroborate the claims against Kavanaugh. The judge continues to vehemently deny the allegations.
