'Married At First Sight's AJ Admits He 'Got Annoyed' With Wife Stephanie Over Moving
Feb. 6 2019, Updated 1:20 p.m. ET
Stephanie Sersen saw a different side of AJ Vollmoeller on last week's Married at First Sight when he fought with her while moving in together. But on this week's episode, he apologized to his new wife.
"I didn't handle the stress of the move too well," he admitted in his confessional. "I got a little short with Steph and I feel awful about that."
He then told her, "It's been an extreme change for me having someone plopped in my life 24/7 after not having anyone there. When we were moving I got annoyed with you."
Stephanie responded that she doesn't get upset often.
"When I see you get that way I'm not used to it," she admitted.
AJ told her to "brush it off" and let him "get it off my chest."
"You're going to need to give me a minute to recover," she said, as he agreed.
"I can do that for my wife," he said. "You do a good job of making me happy. Can I just gaze into your eyes all day?"
On last week's episode, AJ snapped when Stephanie asked which belongings he's bringing to the new home.
"We need a discussion to figure out what exactly is going to go," he said. "I'm not just going to decide on the fly what I'm going to rip out of here because I still come here everyday."
He explained how he is keeping the apartment as an office.
"It needs to look not like an empty place," he said. "I'm going to want to walk into and want to blow my brains out because it's empty."
Stephanie said in her confessional regarding his meltdown, "I understand why AJ is getting frustrated when packing his apartment because his office will still be here and we haven't even seen the new place yet and we don't know what the new place needs."
He then admitted he will likely stay at the apartment over night.
"If I see AJ upset I initially want to take action," she said in her confessional. "I try to fix it and make him happy, but when I see him snap and get mad at a certain point I start to feel a little uncomfortable."
She added, "I think change stresses people out. Because he never lived with a significant other, he might be nervous about that. I wish he could work it out in a better, more constructive way."
