'Batman' Star Adam West Dead At Age 88

Legendary actor Adam West, who was best known for being Batman in the classic 1960s series, died on Friday night at age 88 in Los Angeles, RadarOnline.com has learned.
A family spokesperson revealed that the star had been battling with leukemia, but slipped away peacefully while being surrounded by his loved ones — including his wife Marcelle and his six kids, and his grandkids.
"It's with great sadness that we are sharing this news… Adam West passed away peacefully last night after a short but brave battle with leukemia," the actor's family posted on Facebook.
"He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather," their message went on. "There are no words to describe how much we'll miss him. We know you'll miss him too and we want you to know how much your love and support meant to him throughout the years. Hug your loved ones today."

Despite his struggle to find work after his Batman series, the star managed to pick up voice over work on other shows in later years such as "The Fairly OddParents," "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons."
