Yolanda's Free! David Foster Was 'Controlling & Jealous' Husband From Hell, Ex Claims

But the actress and songwriter found herself soon trapped in a miserable marriage, she claims in her new book, Little Thing Called Life. After a brief honeymoon period, Thompson claims she soon found twice-married Foster "jealous" and "controlling." He was even envious of her past relationship with the deceased Elvis Presley, and forbid her from watching a TV special about the 10th anniversary of the music icon's death. "David was clearly threatened by Elvis's ghost and never wanted me to mention him," she writes.

Foster was also jealous of Thompson's ex Jenner, and hated when he stopped by their home to see young sons Brandon and Brody. Even though he knew about the Olympian's late-80's plans to transition to a woman (which were later thwarted), Foster "simply didn't like Bruce being at the house as much as he was, even though his visits were brief."
Wives remain in the home? The music exec had an "antiqued," "unrealistic" view of women, Thompson says. "At times, he had an expectation that I was there to serve and take care of him, to make beds and do housework," she writes. "At that time he didn't believe that women should have careers. He found ambition in a woman to be unattractive."

The father of five daughters demanded that his wife quit acting, Thompson says. "I don't want you being an actress because you might have to kiss somebody, and if you do, it's not going to work for me," he said, according to Thompson. She continued auditioning anyway.

During their first year of marriage, Foster would often "leave in a fit of anger" and "disappear" for weeks, Thompson claims.

Foster refused to allow anyone to sit in his chair at the kitchen table if he was home or not, even Thompson's ailing, elderly father, she says: "He really and truly wanted to be treated like a king, not like a husband or father, which speaks volumes about what he was like to live with, as lovable as he could be." She notes that next wife Yolanda Hadid often called him her "king" on RHOBH during their marriage.

In 2002, Thompson says she was in a major car accident that resulted in a five-car pileup. When she called Foster for help, he snapped, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" she claims. "David's blatant disregard for me made me feel very much alone."

Foster was furious when Thompson agreed to be interviewed by Larry King for an Elvis Presley special. Later, he attacked King at a dinner party. "F*** you," he snarled, according to Thompson. "How would you like me to ask you about all the women you've been with in front of your wife?"

In the midst of a nasty fight, Thompson's friend told her that Foster was having an affair with a single mom after meeting at a party. Though he initially denied it, the woman later admitted they had "kissed" and gotten "more romantic than that."

In 2004, the relationship was so "contentious," he made a list of 15 demands in order for him to return home. Orders included "no one should ever park in his space in our oversized motor court" and, of course, "the rule that nobody would ever sit in his kitchen chair."

The straw that broke the camels back, she claims, was when Foster got involved in the production of Brandon and Brody's reality show, Princes of Malibu. He and a show runner friend "came up with the idea that the show would center around David," and that the kids were "spoiled brats who abused him and squandered his hard-earned money." Thompson calls the plot "offensive."
