Valerie’s mother Janice exclusively gave an update on her 8-year-old daughter Naveah. “She’s very well,” she said. “I don’t think it’s been hard for her. I don’t know if it will be in the coming years. She’s doing well in school. I took her to a grief counselor, which she didn’t need.”
Valerie saw her daughter once or twice a month, as Janice had full custody. “Because her mom wasn’t living here at the time, it made it easier on her,” she explained. “She’s still in the house she’s grown up in.”
Janice has kept her daughter’s memory alive by “talking about her all the time.” “She has a necklace with some of her ashes,” she explained. “Ashes are in her playroom too. She also has flowers from the service.”
Valerie’s baby daddy Matt Pryce is still involved in their daughter’s life. “He sees her every Saturday,” she said. “We try to keep Matt involved. He has his own problems. She doesn’t always want to see him. We try to rearrange things so she doesn’t miss out on birthday parties and other activities.”
