Val Kilmer Wears Surgical Mask Amid Brave Battle With Cancer

The actor, who just turned 58 on New Year's Eve, kept his head down and face covered while in LAX, sparking concerns his health has taken a turn for the worst.
Kilmer only admitted to having cancer last spring, even though he suffered major weight loss and needed a tracheal tube to assist his breathing in 2015.
Sadly, Kilmer's initial problems were the result of throat cancer.
And, as RadarOnline.com reported, Kilmer's cancer may have now spread to his brain, raising fears the actor may not have long to live.

"Val's in dire straits," a source said. "It seems once the cancer metastasizes, it's very hard to control — even with modern science," said an insider.
Kilmer is a devout Christian Scientist who relied on prayer over more common potential cures, like radiation and chemo. "He eventually got treatment, but he may have waited to long," said the insider. "His chances seem bleak."
