Students on the UCLA campus in Westwood were outside the school buildings with their hands up over their heads as police swarmed the area searching for an active shooter on June 1, 2016.

Police, LAFD, ATF and the FBI all descended upon the University of California Los Angeles to search for the shooter and put the 43,000 student campus on lockdown.

"I'm literally hiding in a hidden dungeon, there are no windows where we are but I am still scared," Sarabeth Belon, a senior at UCLA, told RadarOnline.com exclusively during the lockdown.

Students were frightened and hiding out as the school sent out an alert to stay behind locked doors. "Nobody knows what is going on," another student revealed to RadarOnline.com.

"In this day and age … we would much rather respond in an abundance of caution," Andy Neiman, the Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said of the involvement of law enforcement.

Two men were killed in a small building in the Engineering department. Authorities said that one of the victims was a professor at UCLA.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said the shooter was a student at UCLA and he was confirmed dead, too. Police said a note was found at the scene. The student reportedly shot the professor and then turned the gun on himself.
