QUEEN OF THE SOUTH kicked off the ATX Television Festival with a screening and panel discussion in Austin, Texas.  The screening was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Buzzfeed’s Jarett Wieselman. The full cast was in attendance including, Alice Braga who plays Teresa Mendoza, Jon-Michael Ecker who plays El Guero, Verónica Falcón who plays Camila Vargas, Joaquim de Almeida who plays Epifanio Varga, Justina Machado who plays Brenda Parra, Peter Gadiot, who plays James, Gerardo Taracena who plays Cesar “Batman” Guemes and Hemky Madera who plays Pote Glavez. The event was followed by the Opening Night Party where attendees got to take their picture on a bedazzled throne photo booth using #BeTheQueen and enjoyed themed cocktails such as “All Hail the Queen” and “QueenPin”.

The celebration was in full force as executive producer and newlywed Eva Longoria made one of her first appearances since her honeymoon to kick off the Season 4 premiere of the Lifetime hit show Devious Maids. Longoria was in high spirits as she arrived fresh faced and tanned from her honeymoon. The premiere of Devious Maids was presented by Mewe, the next-gen social network, that took place at LA hotspot STK LA. 

The cast, including Dania Ramirez, Judy Reyes, Sol Rodriquez, Ana Ortiz, James Denton, Rebecca Wisocky, Susan Lucci, Katherine LaNasa, Ryan McPartlin, Stephanie Faracy and Julie Claire toasted to the new season while feasting on passed hors d’oeuvres from STK LA.  The A-listers documented the celebration and posed for selfies on the next-gen social network MeWe all night. Ramirez stepped out on the red carpet in Mety Choa and sparked in Ricardo Basta jewels.  After walking the red carpet, Ramirez and Reyes danced up an appetite and ended the night chowing down on STK LA’s signature sliders, tomato bruschetta and asparagus and mushroom tarts.

Monday, May 17, 2016 - On Monday night, IMDb Founder and CEO Col Needham hosted a dinner party during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival celebrating all things film. Attendees included actor Daniel Bruhl and girlfriend Felicitas Rombold, actress Bianca Blanco, TIFF Artistic Director and critic Cameron BaileyChaz Ebert (wife of legendary film critic Roger Ebert), actor John Savage, Writer/Director/Producer Nicolas Winding Refn and Jason Solomons, Chairman of the London Film Critics Circle.

At the interactive event, guests were a number of questions about classic movies, best Cannes experiences, surprising performances, and favorite films set in the ‘70s as they dined on homemade duck foie gras with toasted farmer bread, mango chutney and vegetable pistoue soup, fillet of beef with Bordalaise sauce, potatoes, braises artichokes and a side of Italian risotto with asparagus and almond and raspberry tart with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Jason Ropell was one of the attendees.
