Last week, Evans met up with Griffith to let him see their son Kaiser. But the brief lunch did not turn into a longer reunion.
This week, a pal close to Evans told RadarOnline.com that Griffith is again getting to spend time with his son, but only under the supervision of his own mother.
"Kai is with Nathan's mom this weekend, with Nathan's daughter," the friend says, "And Nathan is seeing them today with his mom."
According to the source, Griffith "doesn't live with his mom." Instead, "he stays at his own apartment."
Unfortunately, Evans won't let Kai spend the night at his father's place solo.
"Jenelle is really glad he's spending time with the kids because they need bonding time with their father, no matter what her and Nathan's personal issues are," the friend says. "But Jenelle would rather have the kids stay at Nathan's mom's."
"Jenelle isn't comfortable with Nathan having them overnight," the friend continues.
According to the source, Griffith has been on a emotional roller coaster since the breakup, and Evans doesn't want to subject her son to the ups and downs of the drama.
The friend also says that Griffith's daughter from a previous relationship isn't allowed to stay with him overnight either. "The same goes for his daughter," the source says.
But it all worked out, because "Nathan's mom wanted to spend time with Kai since they didn't see him in so long," the source says. And now, Evans is getting some time to herself this weekend to catch up with friends and be "kid-free."
