'Sister Wives' Marital Crisis: Meri Brown Admits Divorce To Kody Is A 'Failure'

On part one of the Sister Wives tell all, Kody and Meri Brown claimed they have been working on their relationship after years of marital issues.
But on the season finale, the first wife admitted her divorce from Kody has given their marriage the "failure" label.

Shocking Tell All
On part two of the tell-all special, the two discussed Meri purchasing a home that has been in her family for years, which she turned into a bed and breakfast. The purchase was a source of contention between Meri and Kody, as she asked for help with the down payment. Although Kody offered to help, he later admitted they didn't have enough money in their budget.
Hurtful Truth
"It's an irritation to me," he said of Meri's business venture. "It doesn't look right to me. At the time, it was a very different view."
Fleeing The Browns?
On the season, the family feared Meri bought the Utah home to leave the family.
Escape Fears
"We didn't know," he said. "We're here in Flagstaff, your bed and breakfast is where your mother lives. It always looked like you were going to leave."
Firing Back
Meri fired back, "I said over and over to them, that's not why!"
Sad Truth
The family then discussed how emotional Christine got looking at her daughter Aspyn's marriage license. As Kody's third wife, they were never legally married.
Silver Lining
"I like the validation of being married," Christine said. "For years we were quiet and under the radar. It has been awesome being a wife everywhere I go."
Shocking Divorce
Meri was Kody's only legal wife. When he married Robyn, he divorced her and legally married his fourth wife Robyn to adopt her children.
Meri’s Struggle
Meri said of the divorce, "Emotionally it's a label of a failure. In this situation it's not, it's a label. Divorce: it's negative."
Better Together?
On part one of the tell all special, the couple gave an update on their marriage. "We have a commitment to a marriage," Kody said. "We've had to discover our new baseline. It changes through the years… We're moving forward. We're steadily working on a direction that's fully mended."
Fixing Their Relationship
Meri added, "It was moving in not a positive direction for a really long time prior to the realization. From that point he and I and everybody had to figure out what we really wanted and move forward from there."
New Hope
Kody then said the two are "dating." "We literally got to a place that was nasty," he said. "We're not doing that anymore. It's a new date, a new girlfriend, a new person."
Catfish Drama
Their marriage has been rocky ever since she was involved in a catfish scandal. She fell in love with a man she met on the Internet. She later learned she had been talking to a woman the entire time.
Marriage Troubles
Meri admitted on a recent episode, "It's hard to be here and work on these relationships in the family," she said. "I'm looking in from the outside. I don't feel like I have a husband and wife relationship."
