The singer/songwriter, 29, made the first public appearance after announcing in October on social media that she was undergoing the process of gender transition. Geiger mingled with the stars at the pop awards show held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in a ladylike black sleeveless dress and subtle makeup.
In 2017, after an Instagram fan asked Geiger about his appearance, the singer replied that she was in the transition process.
Geiger told followers back then about needing the "courage to start the process" of changing gender. Recently, the artist has posted various photos on social media showing a new look of feminine jackets, earrings, and smoky-eye makeup.
"Love it or hate it, this is who I have been for a long time," wrote Geiger, best known for singing "For You I Will," and penning songs for other artists, including Shawn Mendes, One Direction, and James Blunt.
Geiger has told fans online, "Trans Rights Are Human Rights."
Mendes wrote to the songwriter, "So proud of you Teddy!!!" after Geiger announced the transition. Geiger is joining other famous transgender stars, such as Caitlyn Jenner.
Geiger seems to favor experimenting with eye makeup these days, sometimes wearing glasses and sometimes not. On Tuesday night, the singer was joined at the pop awards by Mark Ronson, Normani, Justin Tranter, and DWTS pro Mark Ballas and his rocker wife BC Jean.
Geiger captioned a selfie in November with the news of beginning hormone replacement therapy, noting, "The journey continues. Thank you for all of your support and love … it feels good to have great friends. I am very grateful."
