RadarOnline.com has learned 44-year-old Courtney Wagner is no longer sober and refuses to go back to rehab despite desperate pleas from her famous father. “Courtney continues her battle with prescription pills and alcohol,” a close friend said. “Robert doesn’t know what to do! He’s tried everything he can to support her sobriety.”
But Courtney has struggled to get over the losses in her life, including the death of her fiancé, Max LeRoy, in a motorcycle accident and a bad breakup with former boyfriend Matthew Cox — who was inside her Malibu mansion in April 2012 when police raided and allegedly found handguns, cocaine and heroin at the residence.
Courtney, a jewelry designer, was booked for felony drug possession and Matthew was charged with negligently discharging a firearm — but the case was dropped after the search was deemed illegal.
Sadly, the death of her mother, Natalie Wood, in November 1981 was the greatest loss of Courtney’s life. She reportedly slashed her wrists at age 14, and in 1997, at age 23, she again attempted suicide with an overdose of pills.

A source said: “Courtney has missed her mother her entire life. She was old enough to understand at age seven she had died, but has never truly processed what happened to her.”
In addition, Los Angeles sheriffs have labeled Robert a “person of interest” in the mysterious death of her mother, late actress Natalie Wood.
As Robert struggles to get Courtney into rehab, he’s also facing mounting public pressure to answer questions about the night his wife disappeared during a boating trip — especially after the airing of the successful podcast “Fatal Voyage: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood.”
When confronted by RadarOnline.com at an autograph show in Los Angeles, Wagner got one of his heavies to fend off a reporter while he fled down a corridor — which led to the ladies’ room.
Later, the Hart to Hart star was cornered while signing autographs and asked point-blank if he’d murdered the West Side Story beauty, to which he fumed: “I’m not going to get into that here and now!”
Robert’s wife, Jill St. John, was then spotted looking sickly and was forced to use a wheelchair to be pushed to her flight at Los Angeles International Airport in late October, sparking fears for her health.
