See Prince Philip's Terrifying Car Crash In 10 Shocking New Photos

New pictures obtained by RadarOnline.com show just how close Prince Philip came to a real disaster, when he flipped his car in a scary crash Thursday, January 17.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a crash near the Sandringham Estate. Prince Philip, 97, was pulling out of a driveway onto the main road when he slammed into a Kia driving by. His Land Rover was overturned in the crash.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace confirmed: "The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon.

“The Duke was not injured,” she added. “He saw a doctor as a precaution and the doctor confirmed he was not injured."

Police confirm Philip was driving the car but was not injured in the collision.

His breath was tested at the scene, but he had not been drinking.

The female driver of the Kia suffered cuts, while a female passenger suffered an arm injury. Both were taken to a nearby hospital.

Eyewitnesses told the BBC they helped the royal out of his vehicle.

“He was conscious but very, very shocked and shaken,” according to the BBC.

Berneen Caney, who witnessed the scene of the accident, told The Telegraph newspaper, "It appeared to be quite serious.”

“There was a lot of glass over the road as well as debris,” Caney said. “I saw one of the cars was quite badly damaged, as for the Land Rover, its windows were smashed."
