Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler opened the show insisting that they were NOT the hosts of the beleaguered show.
Melissa McCarthy spoofed "The Favourite" in her bunny covered outfit holding a small bunny puppet with Brian Tyree Henry as they presented the award for Best Costume Design.
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sizzled as they performed "Shallow" from A Star is Born and he joined her at the piano for the final notes. “Thought they were gonna kiss what the hell I was sat here thinking about Bradley’s girlfriend,” a fan wrote about their intense chemistry.
Spike Lee won his first Oscar for Blackkklansman and the first words of his speech were bleeped out. “Let’s do the right thing,” Lee said during his acceptance speech and then said: “You know I had to get that in there.”
Lady Gaga teared up while talking about Bradley Cooper when she won.
“I love you mom and dad,” she tearfully said. “Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me but you. Thank you for believing in us, thank you so much.”
“It’s genuinely quite stressful,” Olivia Coleman tearfully said when she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. “To be in this category with these extraordinary women. Glenn Close, you’ve been my idol for so long and this is not how I wanted it to be I love you very much. I love you all. Love Lady Gaga!”
Julia Roberts presented the Best Picture Award to The Green Book and ended the show. “Apparently, that wraps up the Academy Awards,” she said. “Congratulations to all the nominees and goodnight to Bradley Cooper’s mother and my children. Thank you for watching.”
