Tibbetts was a beloved student at Brooklyn Guernsey Malcom High School before she disappeared while jogging in July, only to be found dead a month later.
Paula Lang Smith, a parent of Tibbetts’ school friend Callie, told RadarOnline.com the girls did many activities together and were very close. “Callie and Mollie were together in cross county and musicals.”
The pretty high school student was in the school play with Callie, Smith told RadarOnline.com. “They were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb together. Oompa Loompas too. Of course, being from a small town, everybody’s family.”

“You can’t even begin to speculate, and you don’t want to,” Smith told RadarOnline.com about Tibbetts’ death as she broke down in tears. “It’s kind of been an emotional rollercoaster, and you think of all the other parents out there in the world who can’t hug their children.”
Cristhian Bahena Rivera was arrested and charged with first degree murder for Tibbetts' death on August 21, 2018.
He told cops that he saw her jogging on July 18, 2018 and ran “alongside her,” and when she threatened to call the police he allegedly killed her.
Rivera led police to her body, which he dragged foot first into a secluded corn field and covered with corn leaves, according to the arrest warrant obtained by RadarOnline.com.
Rivera is facing life in prison and is being held on $1million bond. Stay with RadarOnline.com for updates to the story.
