Matthew Perry looked disheveled as he left his off-Broadway play in New York. And the former TV star has been worried about security at his Los Angeles mansion, as RadarOnline.com has reported. Click through our gallery for more on Perry's post-Friends fears.
Perry has been in New York for his playwriting and acting debut. Perry's play The End of Longing concerns four strangers walk into a bar—an alcoholic, an escort, a self-diagnosed neurotic, and a well-intentioned dimwit.
Photographers recently caught Perry leaving the play after a performance in the West Village of NYC. He's been staying in New York while doing the show but RadarOnline.com sources have said he's concerned about his L.A. abode being broken into. Other stars have been burglarized in Hollywood recently.
Perry wore his usual sloppy duds after doing his play recently, including a dark over shirt over tee-shirt, black jeans, and sneakers. His hair is usually unkempt these days, and far from his Friends heyday.
Joining Perry in his play is House star Jennifer Morrison. The End of Longing began performances May 18 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York. Is the work taking its toll? Last year in London, Perry also looked bloated and tired.
Perry, 47, recently beefed up security after a rash of celebrity burglaries in Hollywood, RadarOnline.com sources said.
A pal close to Perry exclusively told RadarOnline.com about new safety arrangements, "He finally got serious about having his house guarded and wired for security that he can check in with on his phone."
Perry has appeared unrecognizable lately as he's looked like he's not taking care of himself -- and in the past, he has struggled to stay sober. The actor was previously treated for drug and alcohol addiction.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, it's not the first time Perry has looked rough. Last year, he made a bizarre appearance on Seth Myer's Late Night show, slurring his words and seeming bleary-eyed.
