In Denial? ‘Flawed’ Maci Bookout Defends Constant Drinking: ‘I’m An Adult!’

Maci Bookout has come under fire by fans for her excessive drinking, especially when she was accused of boozing while pregnant with her third child. In the Teen Mom OG star’s upcoming memoir I Wasn’t Born Bulletproof: Lessons I’ve Learned (So You Don’t Have To), she defends her drinking, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.
In the tell-all, which will be released on June 27, Bookout responds to the backlash she faced when her husband Taylor McKinney “innocently” posted a photo of her drinking a beer while holding her then-newborn daughter Jayde. “The reaction that followed was intense,” Bookout, 25, wrote. “People accused me of being a horrible, negligent mother; of drinking too much; of putting my newborn in mortal danger.”
But Bookout defended her drinking, as she penned, “It’s one beer, folks I am an adult, over the legal drinking age, and just because I’m a mom that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a beer on a Sunday evening with my husband.”
The mother-of-three then told those who pass judgment on her and other mothers to “mind your own ef’ing beeswax!” “Newsflash: Mothers Are Human Beings," she wrote. "We are flawed, hard-working, well-intentioned, exhausted individuals; we do our best, we make mistakes, but above all we love our children."

But Bookout didn’t stop there, as she also defended smoking, which she has been photographed doing over the years. “While obviously I don’t condone excessive drinking, having a beer—or even smoking the occasional cigarette—does not warrant a call to Child Services, and it does not make you a bad mother,” she wrote.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Bookout posted a photo holding a beer only seven weeks before announcing her pregnancy with third child Maverick Reed. She was even caught on camera drinking beer with an obvious baby bump on TMOG.
“Every scene of @MaciBookoutMTV shows her drinking beer and she knows damn well she’s pregnant,” once user wrote, while another tweeted, “You are so busted on the episode around Christmas you were drinking a beer at the restaurant!”
Not only has Bookout and her husband been spotted drinking on the show, but they have also posted many drinking photos over the years on social media.
