Rounding out a summer of shocking splits, Jon Hamm and his girlfriend of 18 years, Jennifer Westfeldt, announced this weekend that they were separating. According to insiders, there was trouble in paradise for several months now and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned about the final straw that tore the couple apart. "The real reason that he and Jennifer split was because she wanted him to commit and he was just not ready," a source close to the 44-year-old actor tells RadarOnline.com.

But, apparently, it takes more than just good looks to keep a woman happy because the source tells RadarOnline.com, "Jennifer told Jon that she never imagined that after almost two decades together, he would still have not asked her to marry him."
In the past year, Hamm has been struggling with alcoholism and, as RadarOnline.com reported, spent 30 days in a rehabilitation center this past Spring.
According to the insider, after Hamm was released from rehab at the end of March, "All he did was constantly pick fights with Jennifer. They would go to war over everything."
"Neither one of them could trust the other one towards the end," says the source.
"It just got to the point where they both realized that they were better off without each other."
