J. Lo & A-Rod: A Hollywood Love Story In 21 Pictures

On Saturday May 21^st, 2005 Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were at the Subway Series game between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees at Shea Stadium in Queens. And guess who came over to say hi? A-Rod!

One of the first public sightings of J. Lo and A-Rod was on March 10, 2017 as they flew on a private jet from Miami to the Bahamas for a romantic weekend together. According to Vanity Fair, it all began when they ran into each other in Beverly Hills. Rodriguez told her how gorgeous she looked then called her a few hours later to ask her out.

By April of 2017 things were moving forward and the couple attended an event at the Solow Building in Manhattan. According to People, a source said “She seems excited. He has been around her family and she really likes that he is a dad. She is aware, though, that he is a ladies' man and is being cautious. For now, it's just fun."

There’s nothing like taking in the sights of a museum when you’re young and in love! In May, 2017, J. Lo and A-Rod hit the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Rodriguez, who had previously dated Madonna, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz had eyes for just Jenny from the Block.

J. Lo has two kids (Rodriguez is also dad to two children), so they spent Mother’s Day in May 2017 out and about together in New York City. Around this time A-Rod appeared on The View, saying, "It's obvious, we've been having a great time. She's an amazing girl and one of the smartest human beings I've ever met and also an incredible mother."

One of the great things about being rich is that you don’t just have to spend your time at the local ice cream shop. Just three months later and the pair were eating ice cream on the Île Saint-Louis near Notre-Dame de Paris. Ooh la la!

The couple were on location for Shades of Blue in Queens. Rodriguez's birthday was just a few weeks before, and J. Lo had shared her birthday message with him Instagram, “Happy birthday to the man who makes my heart skip a beat every time he walks in the room."

In August of 2017, Lopez and Rodriguez went to Las Vegas for the super welterweight boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor. According to Cosmopolitan, Lopez said, "I understand him in a way that I don't think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could ever.” So who won that night? Love did.

In October 2017, both J. Lo and A-Rod showed up to work the phone bank during the One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert For Disaster Relief at the Universal Studios Lot. They both had a personal connection. Lopez’s parents are from Puerto Rico and Rodriguez’s come from the Dominican Republic. According to Cosmopolitan, Lopez even donated $1 million of her own money.

As the year wore on, the pair attended November's New York Dinner for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Manhattan. According to Cosmopolitan, A-Rod said, "We're are very much twins. We're both Leos; we're both from New York; we're both Latino and about 20 other things."

The holidays were a little rosier for each of them in 2017 now that they were spending their time together. Just two days after Christmas Day they were both spotted out and about shopping in Los Angeles. They both acknowledged the cameras — one with a wave, the other with a camera of his own.

J. Lo and A-Rod headed to Loíza, Puerto Rico in 2018 to announce the donation of two million dollars for local Primary Health Centers.

The established couple hit the courts — as members of the audience — at Duke Blue Devils and the Miami Hurricanes basketball game in Miami Florida. They already have one slam dunk under their belts ... their relationship.

A mutual love of sports took J. Lo and A-Rod to the 2018 State Farm All-Star Saturday Night at the Staples Center on February 17.

Looking heavenly, A-Rod and J. Lo attended the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in May 2018 in New York City. Around this time, engagement rumors were filling the air. J. Lo addressed them on Good Morning America saying, “We have to take our time. I've made plenty of mistakes in the past, we're mature now, we're grown ups, we're going to take our time and take things at our own pace.”

The lovable duo lent their considerable weight, by attending the 33rd Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner To Benefit The Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis Dinner, in September of 2018. The dinner, hosted at the New York Hilton Midtown, raised millions of dollars for the Buoniconti Fund.

Just two weeks later, the couple attended the 91^st Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre. It didn’t matter who took home awards that night — because A-Rod had already won.

On March 17^th, J. Lo flashed her massive engagement ring while out dining with her fiancé. It had only taken 14 years from the time they first met to make it official. According to Cosmopolitan, the March 9^th proposal took place on the beach at sunset. Alex got down on bended knee and asked if she’d marry him. Even the Obamas sent them a handwritten congratulatory letter.
