"People that look like me and dress like me are expected to almost look beyond that. People think that's just part of what I do," the anguished officer said. "I disagree with that."

Veteran officer Carter described the horrific crime scene where the bodies of the teenagers, who went missing on February 13, 2017, were found. "I'll never be able to unsee what I saw that day," The Indy Channel reported Carter said. The girls were found on February 14, 2017, a quarter of a mile from the Monon bridge in Delphi, Indiana.
Sgt. Tony Slocum told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the police have a video of the man they believe killed the girls but that they will not be releasing it to the public.
German posted a video on Snapchat at 2:07pm, the last time there was any communication from the girls. It showed Williams walking down the bridge. The video she took of the killer led the police to a break in the case. "One day I'm going to thank her," Carter said about German. "We wouldn't be here today without that photograph." He said that he is putting extensive effort into solving the case. "I want to meet with their parents and tell them: Guess what? We did it," he said. "I feel so strongly about this. I can't imagine ending my life and not finding the guy who did this."
