It can be easy to think that celebrities do not have to deal with the frightening parts of life like the rest of us. However, not all entertainers have security or bodyguards with them at all times.

Sometimes even the rich and famous are faced with violence, attacks and robbery. While most celebs are used to being attacked by fans verbally or online, which celebs have actually been mugged?
1. Naomi Campbell Violently Attacked In Paris.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell had a terrifying experience in December 2012 in Paris. According to RadarOnline.com Online, while hailing a taxi cab on the street in Paris, Campbell was violently attacked. Her assailant knocked her to the ground and severely injured her leg. She was later seen using a wheelchair and crutches due to her injuries but would later say that she held onto her bag containing her passport, and the thief did not make off with any valuables.
2. Kim Kardashian Robbed In Hotel Room.
One of the most notorious celebrity muggings ... Kim Kardashian was attacked in her room at the No Address Hotel in Paris in October 2016 while she was in town for Paris Fashion Week. Dressed as police officers, the thieves broke into the room where Kardashian was staying and tied her up in the bathroom while holding her at gunpoint. They swiped 11 million dollars’ worth of jewelry including the reality star’s $4 million diamond ring. As RadarOnline.com Online reported at the time, over 17 people were arrested in connection with the heist that was allegedly orchestrated and planned by people working in an illicit jewelry trafficking ring. The Keeping Up With The Kardashian's star’s valuables were likely melted down and sold in Antwerp, Belgium, where they will never be recovered.
3. Tupac Shakur Was Robbed And Shot In 1994.
Two years before he was murdered, hip-hop star Tupac Shakur was robbed and shot outside of Quad Recording Studios in the Times Square area of New York City on December 1, 1994. Shakur was shot five times before the thieves made off with about $45 thousand in jewelry — including gold chains and a diamond ring. While the rapper recovered from the gunshots, no one was ever arrested for the crime. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in 2012 James Rosemond, a convicted drug trafficker admitted to shooting and robbing Shakur while in prison. He would not be charged with the 1994 incident because of the statute of limitations.
4. 2 Chains Robbed At Gun Point And Thought It Was A Joke.
It seems that Ashton Kutcher has done such a good job of ‘punking' celebrities over the years that when they actually are getting mugged, they think the whole thing is a joke. That is what happened to rapper 2 Chainz when he was held at gunpoint in San Francisco in 2013. While walking down the street, the rapper and his entourage were confronted by men armed with guns. They laughed it off but the assailants were dead serious about taking the performer’s trademark jewelry. According to MTV News, one of his bodyguards later reported that when he realized the robbery was really happening he complied with their requests and handed over his jewelry, cell phone and wallet before running in the other direction. Shots were fired, but luckily no one was hurt.
5. Keith Lemon Attacked By Muggers On Mopeds.
Leigh Francis, the host of the British television show Celebrity Juice, was walking down the street in London back in July 2018 when he was the victim of a mugging, according to the Mirror. Two men riding mopeds pulled up beside him, grabbed his arm and pulled off his watch before speeding away. Lemon said that the joke was on his attackers because he “doesn't wear bling” and the watch was worth only about 50 dollars.
6. Signer Nicole Scherzinger Held At Gunpoint By Gang.

Singer and television host Nicole Scherzinger had the scary experience of being held at gunpoint by bandits. The former Pussycat Dolls member was traveling to a music video shoot in the countryside of Mexico in 2011 when her car was pulled over by armed men wielding large guns. According to the Daily Mail, Scherzinger was upset but unharmed as her assailants eventually let her and a companion go. It is not clear if any items were stolen during the incident and it was suspected that the muggers were from a local gang.
7. LL Cool J. Beats A Burglar Before He Can Be Robbed.
LL Cool J. is going to knock you out ... if you break into his house and try to rob him. The hip-hop legend was at his home in Los Angeles back in 2012 when he subdued a burglar at two in the morning. According to the NY Daily News, the rapper turned actor, known for portraying a tough cop on TV, confronted the robber and broke the man’s nose and jaw in a violent fight. Luckily, aside from the assailant, no one was harmed in the home, and the NCIS: Los Angeles star held the bloodied burglar until the police arrived. The thief was arrested on burglary charges and taken to the hospital.
8. Matthew McConaughey Robbed After A Fun Night Out.
Back in June of 2008, future Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey was in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. According to the Irish Examiner, the movie star was drinking at a local bar and having such a good time that he ended up standing on tables. At one point, the actor lost his flip-flops, but luckily they weren’t stolen and fellow patrons helped him find them. Having had a bit to drink, McConaughey was helped back to his villa hotel room by friends. However, others took advantage of the situation — with his hotel room door unlocked, unknown thieves walked right into the room and ran out with his cell phone and 2,000 dollars in cash. Luckily, the star slept things off and was all right, all right, all right.
9. Benedict Cumberbatch Held By Six Armed Men.
Back in 2004, Benedict Cumberbatch had a terrifying experience while filming To The Ends of The Earth in South Africa. According to ET Online, while riding in a vehicle on the way back from a scuba diving excursion, Cumberbatch and costars Theo Landey and Denise Black were stopped and held at gunpoint by six men. The criminals took the actor’s phones and credit cards but didn’t stop there. They forced Cumberbatch and his companions into the trunk of a car, where he screamed and begged for his life. The assailants finally stopped the car, tied up their captives and made them kneel on the ground. Cumberbatch would later say that he thought this would be the last moment of his life.
10. Rod Stewart Was Car Jacked On Sunset Blvd.
Way back in 1982 British rock singer Rod Stewart was getting into his parked car with his assistant and his 3-year-old daughter on the famed Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, California according to the NY Daily News. A man approached with a gun and forced Stewart to hand him the keys. The assailant was unable to start the black Porsche and needed Stewart to start the engine for him before driving off with the $50 thousand car. While it is not clear if that car was ever recovered, it would not be the last time Stewart was the victim of a car thief. In 2004, a disgruntled gardener who had worked at the rocker’s home stole his Dodge Viper, which he later crashed.
11. Revenge Star, Madeline Stowe, Victim Of Home Invasion
In September 2015, actress Madeline Stowe was home sleeping nude next to her husband when she heard a noise that turned out to be a burglar, according to E! News. The Golden Globe nominated actress went to see what the noise was when a man held a gun to her neck in the bathroom of her master bedroom. The thief demanded valuables and made off with $75,000 worth of jewelry — luckily leaving Stowe physically unharmed. Police later arrested Walter Canizalez who denied the charges against him.
