George Michael's sad farewell turned into a tense face-off when his boyfriend showed up to pay his respects, against the family's wishes! Click through 10 star-studded photos of Michael’s final farewell to find out how Fadi Fawaz managed to gain access to the sad event!
Michael’s boyfriend, Fawaz, was seen attending the funeral at Highgate Cemetery –along with close family and friends. But according to a close family friend of Michael’s, Fawaz “completely crashed” the services!
“No one that was organizing George’s funeral wanted Fadi there and they actually gave him the wrong place and time on purpose,” a source close to Michael told RadarOnline.com. Also in attendance were supermodel Kate Moss, Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell, Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and former Wham! band mate Andrew Ridgeley.
"We can confirm that the funeral of the singer George Michael took place today," a rep for the late singer told The Sun. "Family and close friends gathered for the small, private ceremony to say goodbye to their beloved Son, Brother and Friend."
The rep added, "George Michael's family would like to thank his fans across the world for their many messages of love and support."

Fawaz, 43, arrived to the funeral at 2pm, wearing dark sunglasses. “Fadi was smart to arrive last because the services had already started and he was able to get past security without causing a huge drama,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
Although Fawaz tweeted over the weekend, “Let me make it clear that I’m not banned to go to the funeral, none of it is true,” the insider insisted he was not welcome.
Indeed, even Michael’s cousin, Andros Georgiou, said that Fadi was “not welcome,” according to The Sun! “It seemed like the only reason that Fadi even wanted to be there was because he thought that he should be seen at the funeral,” said the source, adding, “It was more of a pride thing for him than anything else and a lot of people thought that him showing was extremely disrespectful.”
According to The Sun, the body of the singer is believed to have arrived in a private ambulance instead of a hearse.
The source told RadarOnline.com that, although Fawaz was able to gain access, the other guests paid no attention to him! “No one acknowledged Fadi being there at all after he arrived,” the insider insisted.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Fawaz discovered Michael’s body on Christmas Day. The funeral was delayed because of toxicology tests and it was ruled that Michael died of natural causes at the age of 53.
