Emmy Rossum Marries 'Mr. Robot' Creator Sam Esmail In New York

Emmy Rossum reportedly tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, in New York on Sunday. Guests at the star-studded ceremony included Robert Downey Jr., William H. Rossum, always a fashion standout, thrilled onlookers with her white wedding gown. The actress who starred in the big screen Phantom of the Opera in 2004 told PEOPLE before the ceremony that famed designer Carolina Herrera was creating the dress for her big day.
The actress, 30, now stars on the TV series Shameless. She walked down the aisle with director Esmail, 39, best known for creating the TV show Mr. Robot. In addition to her acting, Rossum supports charitable causes.
The wedding ceremony for Rossum and Esmail was an intimate one at the East 55th Street Conservative Synagogue In New York City in front of family and friends. Rossum has said her mother is Jewish.
Guests at Rossum's wedding included friends Robert Downey Jr., William H. Macy and Hilary Swank. The bride wore a simple off-the-shoulder white gown, which featured pleated detailing at the bust and a patterned waistline.
For her happy day, Rossum wore her brown hair swept back in an elegant bun and sported a long white veil. The actress carried a bouquet of white flowers and green leaves, and wore jeweled earrings. Esmail had donned a classic black suit for the wedding.
The day before the ceremony, Rossum and Esmail, her fiancé since August 2015, were seen walking together in New York City holding hands. Although she had a good girl image, Rossum has recently turned heads with her nude scenes on Shameless.
Rossum was married once before, to music executive Justin Siegel. They divorced in 2010. According to the Huffington Post, the actress opined that her failed first marriage "wasn't the end of the world."
It was no surprise that the star looked gorgeous in her wedding gown. Rossum always gets kudos on Hollywood red carpets and as RadarOnline.com has reported, she has an impressive diet and fitness routine.
