Meghan's Mom Spends Lonely Holiday Away From The Royal Family
Dec. 27 2018, Updated 4:33 p.m. ET
It was no royal holiday for Doria Ragland.
Meghan Markle’s mom spent a lonely Christmas at home, an ocean away from her daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, and her new family. Instead, discover how Ragland spent her subdued holiday in this RadarOnline.com gallery.
There were reports that Ragland would travel to the UK to be with her pregnant daughter, but it seems she chose to stay at home instead.
Parents-to-be Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 34, joined Prince William 36, wife Kate Middleton, 36, and Queen Elizabeth II, 92, and Prince Philip, 97, at Sandringham to celebrate Christmas together.
But Ragland’s absence may not exactly be a royal snub. Royal insiders say that is very uncommon for outsiders to join the Queen for the holidays, and if Ragland were to join, they would be making yet another exception for Markle.
So instead, it was a quiet holiday at home.
Ragland, 62, spent a casual and quiet Christmas at home in Los Angeles.
She was seen just days earlier leaving a gym where she teaches Yoga to Senior Citizens close to her home.
As RadarOnline.com revealed, Ragland, 62, was originally invited for the royal holiday get-together.
But not everyone was pleased with the decision. Kate Middleton’s mother Carol Middleton reportedly felt snubbed.
A source told RadarOnline.com: “She has never been asked to join the royal household for Christmas, and she would love to be regarded as part of the royal family.”
Also reportedly separated from Markle during the holiday season: Kate Middleton.
The two women – who have reportedly been feuding – were said to have been housed in different quarters as the Royal Family celebrated Christmas together.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, pregnant Markle has reportedly been difficult to deal with in recent weeks.
Maybe Ragland knew what she was doing spending a quiet holiday alone.
