Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer’s South Dakota home was broken into while they were on a family vacation in Colorado. On last night’s episode, the Teen Mom 2 stars described the chilling moment they discovered their home had been ransacked.
Now, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal more details on the robbery.
911 Call
The Turner County Sheriff’s Office in South Dakota confirmed to RadarOnline.com that authorities were dispatched to the residence on December 30, 2018 at 10:56pm.
Scary Reality
“Cole and Chelsea arrived home noticed items were missing,” a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office told RadarOnline.com. “Multiple handbags were taken.”
Social Media Hint?
On the episode, Chelsea, 27, feared she tipped off robbers because she posted that the family was on a trip. But she said a home close by was broken into as well.
Unanswered Questions
“It’s hard to know whether it was related to the other break-in,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “It could or couldn’t be.”
Still Struggling
Chelsea, who is mother to Aubree, 9, with ex Adam Lind, Watson, 2, and Layne, 7 months, with husband Cole, was so shaken up by the incident that she stayed at her mother’s home weeks after the robbery when home alone.
Wanted
And Chelsea has a reason to be worried, as the robber is still on the loose.
Open Investigation
“We’ve checked a few leads, waiting for more information or a hit on stolen items,” the spokesperson said. “Preferably we find someone. We don’t want to give out details until we can find a suspect or tie a person to it.”
Bad Luck
Fortunately for the family, break-ins aren’t common in their area.
Safe Neighborhood
“We don’t have a whole lot in general,” the Sheriff's Office said. “When it’s early spring or late fall, warm out and snow isn’t hit, and that’s when a majority of them happens.”
Chilling Details
On the episode, Cole explained of the incident, “She walked into our room and she said, ‘Wait something is not right in here.’ I went into our room. Our closet was destroyed. S**t everywhere, bins dumped. I’m running into every room in the house thinking someone is hiding in a closet. I was the most pissed I’ve ever been. Once I knew no one was in here I called the police.”
Suspect?
Chelsea explained in a later scene, “The cop was asking how our relationship was with Adam Lind and I was like, you never know,” she said of her troubled baby daddy. “We had laptops out and they didn’t take it. The only things we noticed were bags, jewelry, a pearl bracelet. If someone broke in while I was there, I would have two babies. It wouldn’t be easy.”
