On September, 30, 2016 the unthinkable happened to beautiful Georgia mom Courtney Waldon. The 27-year-old was left disfigured from horrific burns — and then abandoned by her husband. Her mother, Karen Cosper, slammed her son-in-law in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com
Waldon and her husband were celebrating their two-year anniversary at a campfire when things took a turn for the worse. Waldon's husband got up to relight the fire by swinging a can of gas, causing some of the gas to hit her body. Flames immediately engulfed her.
Waldon suffered fourth-degree burns on her face and third degree burns on her hands, legs and feet. But luckily she survived.
Doctors say had she not been so close to the hospital in that moment, she wouldn't be alive today.
Following 51 days in the hospital and a 30-day coma, Waldon returned home to her 5-year old daughter, Caroline, whom she had from a previous relationship.

Two weeks later, her husband left her — leaving Waldon devastated.
Waldon's mother, Karen Cosper exclusively spoke to RadarOnline.com about her daughter's husband's decision to leave her following the horrific incident.
"I was upset. He broke her heart. He left her in a very mean way too. He was very ugly to her," Cosper recalled. "She begged him to stay with her and he just said mean things, like how he couldn't be there with her, how he couldn't support her. He's not a man."
"He left her without a cell phone or any money, and left the four year old in the middle of the night. It was just a bad situation," Cosper continued. "He would mess with her. I just know that he would tell her that he would come by and come back to possibly work things out, and then he would never show up."
“It was a blessing in disguise,” Waldon told PEOPLE. “I think if he was around he would be holding me down. I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today and wouldn’t have made as much progress. The support I've received has been unbelievable"
A GoFundMe Page has been set up to help Waldon pay off her medical bills
