Britney Spears is no stranger to needing emotional and mental help. As RadarOnline.com has reported, the singer checked into a wellness center to work through some of the trauma that she has associated with her father’s continued illness.
Dad Jamie recently underwent a second surgery following his colon rupture and hospitalization, and sources close to the family tell RadarOnline.com he is “not getting any better.”
“Britney is taking some time out to make sure that she is okay,” the insider revealed. “Her father asked her to do this because she means more to him than anything in the world.”

Britney’s first mental meltdown happened on New Year's in 2004, not long after her breakup from Justin Timberlake.
Long Relationship
“Britney and Justin had a big relationship, and it ended painfully,” an attorney for Jamie Spears argued in 2012. In 2003 her parents noticed that she had changed over the breakup of her and Justin and noticed she was depressed.
Childhood Lover
So Britney flew to Las Vegas and after a boozy night out, married childhood friend Jason Alexander.
Quickie Wedding
Their union would last for only 55 hours, before Britney had the marriage annulled. The annulment said Spears "lacked understanding of her actions, to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage."
2007
On Feb. 18, 2007, Britney suffered her most memorable breakdown, when she shaved off all her hair, then attacked a paparazzo's car with an umbrella a few days later.
2008
At the time, Britney had just divorced Kevin Federline in 2007 and was gripped in a nasty custody battle with him over their children.
Custody
She was also put under a conservatorship, which signed her life and fortune over to her father and her lawyer.

"My life was controlled by too many people and that doesn’t really let you be yourself," Britney said, according to Harper's Bazaar. "I wrote back then, that I was lost and didn’t know what to do with myself." She added, "There are moments where I look back and think: 'What the hell was I thinking?'"
Clean And Sober
After staying relatively clean for several years, and redefining her careers with an extended stay in Las Vegas, it seemed like Britney had conquered her fears.
Dad’s Health
That is, until her father became sick in 2017, after his colon “spontaneously ruptured,” leaving him hospitalized for several months.
Dad deteriorating
Though she has remained silent since, a source exclusively told RadarOnline.com the 66-year-old Jamie’s health is “deteriorating” and he is having many health complications stemming from his ruptured colon.
Tour Cancelled
Earlier this year, Britney postponed her Las Vegas residency and cancelled her upcoming concerts after her beloved dad was rushed to the hospital late last year.
Future Doubts
And although a press release issued by the Spears camp said that Jamie is “expected to make a full recovery” after “almost dying,” a source close to the pop princess told RadarOnline.com Jamie’s health is not “well at all."
