It's been a tough few years for Brad Pitt. With his nasty divorce from Angelina Jolie and custody battle over his six children, the actor has not had it easy. But RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the Hollywood hunk has been relying on his family for support during this tough time, specifically on his brother Doug Pitt and his kids. As RadarOnline.com can reveal, it's been Doug Pitt, his wife Lisa, and their two daughters Sydney and Reagan who've kept Brad, 55, afloat during the past two and a half years. During the holidays, they even flew to California from their Springfield, Missouri, hometown to ring in the new year with the lonely star.
Readers know that while a judge recently ordered Angelina, 43, to let Brad spend more time with his children, it was months before the actor could get alone time with all six. Though his relationship with Maddox, 17, is still rocky, the Fury star now finally gets to enjoy his daddy duties.
When little brother Doug came to visit Brad on the first weeks of January, the two stayed at the actor's amazing Goleta, California, beach retreat, and relaxed on the deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They later returned to his Los Feliz compound in Los Angeles.
Though the brothers are rarely spotted together, Brad made sure Doug and his family had a good time outside of the spotlight. Photos from January 7 show the foursome visiting the Breitling Boutique at Century City mall. Given that Brad is the face of the luxury watch brand, he likely hooked his family up with a few free treats! Plus, the Oscar winner even let his relatives drive around in one of his luxury Teslas! Sources said the family also dined at Crossroads, a celebrity-favorite vegan restaurant owned by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in trendy Melrose.

RadarOnline.com's sources close to Brad said he has come to rely on Doug as a sympathetic ear amid his family chaos. "Doug's very Midwestern in that he's pragmatic and no-nonsense and completely unaffected by Hollywood BS, so he's been a Godsend for Brad as he unravels all the chaos that he's gone through in the past couple of years," said the insider.
"Brad's been going through therapy, but no one knows him better than Doug, so he's been able to call him day or night, especially when he's feeling lonely. It's been tough for him to go from having six kids in the house to being all by himself most of the time… Brad's happy to host them at his homes. It's the least he can do."
Brad's lookalike brother had his own seven minutes of fame back in 2012, when he starred in a Virgin Australia cellphone campaign called "Fair Go, Bro" and described himself as "the second most famous Pitt." Now, he runs a computer business in sleepy Springfield and a local charity, Care to Learn. He lives with Lisa, his daughters and their son Landon just seconds from parents Jane and Bill Pitt.
It's unclear if Brad's six children Maddox, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox often visit their older cousins Sydney and Reagan.
Though things have reportedly gotten resolved for Brad in terms of his custody war with Angelina, a source said the Mr. And Mrs. Smith actress is playing dirty, and their divorce is not yet finalized! "His darkest days aren't over yet, but at least he has his Missouri family by his side," said the insider.
